To encourage the growth and development of Virginia college student clubs affiliated with Trout Unlimited through the 5 Rivers Program (a.k.a. 5 Rivers clubs), the Virginia Council of Trout Unlimited (VCTU) is offering small grants of up to $500. All 5 Rivers clubs at Virginia colleges and universities are eligible for these grant funds and may submit proposals for funding to VCTU through a Small Grants Program established for 2015.
In their proposal, the 5 Rivers club shall address how the proposed activities advance the mission of Trout Unlimited and build the capacity of their club. More information about TU’s mission and the 5 Rivers Program is available at www.tu.org and www.tu.org/5Rivers.
In order to be considered, proposals must include:
- 5 Rivers club name and contact person
- College or university name
- Affiliated TU Chapter name and contact person
- Narrative description of proposed activities and expected outcomes (2 pages or less)
- Proposed budget
- Timeline for use of funds and reporting
All proposals shall be submitted to the VCTU Executive Committee for review. Grant funds may be awarded directly to the college club or to their affiliated chapter at the discretion of VCTU. Upon completion of any proposed activities, the 5 Rivers club is expected to give a presentation at a VCTU quarterly meeting and/or a meeting of their affiliated chapter.
